she said,

i pray that

the lord will take all my lost dreams

and forgotten wishes

and put them up in the sky

among the stars,

so that at the very least

the stories of my regrets and sorrows

can light up the path of someone else

towards a destination not so dark as mine.

and as her words parted from her lips,

as sure as the rays of the moon,

the darkness fell to light, and she said,

the stars have never been so many

nor so bright.
